Take the JR Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen from Osaka to Nagoya and then transfer to the JR Hida Limited Express.

By Car: Gifu is accessible via the Chuo Expressway and Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway. The drive from Tokyo takes about 5 hours, while the drive from Osaka takes approximately 3.5 hours.
